Cafés des Psaumes and Graines de Psaumes: places of culture and conviviality

Opened by OSE (Œuvre de Secours aux Enfants), the Café des Psaumes is a social café located at 16 rue des Rosiers in Paris. It offers cultural activities that help revive the “Jewish soul” of the neighborhood. Primarily dedicated to welcoming elderly people—Holocaust survivors and migrants from North Africa—it nevertheless remains open to all, fostering intergenerational bonds and promoting Jewish culture.

In response to the success of the Café des Psaumes on rue des Rosiers, OSE has expanded the social café model and opened Graines de Psaumes in Paris and the surrounding suburbs.

The cafés and Graines de Psaumes offer a wide range of activities throughout the year.

Workshops – Classes

• Mondays at 2:30 p.m.: Intermediate Hebrew (Level 2) with Monique Dahan Goldberg
• Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m.: Hebrew class with Catherine Gabbay

Literary Cafés

• Every Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.: Yankel Fijalkow, Mikael Gómez Guthart, and Sylvie Adler take turns presenting at the Café des Psaumes a book that reflects the many facets of Jewish culture. A friendly discussion with the audience follows. The program can be heard again the following Saturday from 9 p.m. on Radio J (Paris region: 94.8 FM).

15th Anniversary of the Café des Psaumes

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Café des Psaumes, the Œuvre de Secours aux Enfants (OSE) is organizing the fourth edition of its Book Fair, a cultural event open to all, in the heart of the Marais.
