Projects may concern :
- French, German, European problematics - national specificities and differences
- Specific or general studies of the Second World War, the period between the two World Wars, or the post-War era
- Interdisciplinary or discrete research concerning social, economic, political or intellectual history
- Implementation of the "Final Solution":
- Collective or group history
- Individual destinies
- Comparisons to other genocides: specificities, differences and analogies
- Antisemitism
Foundation funding may be requested for:
- Fellowships for French thesis
- Thesis fellowships under joint supervision
- National and international conferences and seminars
- New publications, new editions, new translations
- Conservation and collection of archives
- Aid for libraries
Projects are evaluated in terms of:
- Relevance to the Foundation’s basic objectives
- The ability of the applicant to successfully complete the project
- Innovative aspects of the project
- Timeliness
- Expected impact
- Use of new technologies
- The appropriateness of the project’s budget, the financial resources of the applicant, and a detailed justification of the amount requested from the Foundation
- The involvement of young researchers
- The interdisciplinary nature of the research
- The project’s international dimension
- The extent to which results will be disseminated
- For book projects, a contract with a publisher

November 1, 2010 (conferences, seminars, publications, translations, and archives)
April 1, 2011 (thesis fellowships, postdoctoral fellowships, missions, invitations, and research projects)
